How to Earn Online In India
Earn Money Online – What doesn’t work!
When you wish to earn money online from home, or maybe from college, there are a lot of ways that will never work. I have wasted time with these methods and would hate to see you waste your time too.Although not all of these methods are outright scams, but many just simply don’t work! Or pay very little for a whole lot of work. Therefore if you wish to make your dream of online earning come true, you will have to avoid wasting time with these time-wasters or you’ll end up giving up on trying to make money from your computer.
If you wish to learn the stuff that can help you earn money check out my list of what made me money online.
Here is a list of all of those things I wish I’d never tried and I’d recommend you to stay away from:
1. Online Surveys Sites - Yes, everybody says they are scams, and believe me, they are! Although there are one or two legitimate companies out there that may assist in earning a little money by doing surveys once in a while, you cannot expect to build a steady online income from them.
When I started online, I too clicked on those advertisement of survey sites. After signing up on three fake survey sites, I finally found a legitimate one and guess what, I earned 200 rupees in three months – yes, that’s money earned online, but is it worth it? Today I earn above 20k per month and I assure you, these sites are not the way to go!
2. Paid-to-Click Sites – Another huge time waster! There are a lot of these sites out there, a majority of which will never pay. The ones who do, will have a list of requirements to fulfill and payment threshold to cross, before they send you the money.
This money again, is too little for too much work. The only ones making money from Paid-to-click sites are their owners, so stay away!
3. Paid to Read Emails – Nearly all of them pay and that’s because they charge advertisers for ads that they send to you. But its not as easy as it sounds, you don’t just need to read their email but also click on a link inside this mail. Only after this you get paid a whopping 10 paise maximum!
Take out your calculator and punch those buttons, you’ll know that even if you get the promised 2-3 emails per day, you cannot earn more than say, a hundred rupees or so a month! They are a huge time waster and fill up your inbox with spam so stay away.

4. Get-Rich-Quick Clickbank Products - A lot of people will fall for these. You can find ads online promising you online riches for $49.99! A lot of these are clickbank products.
Now clickbank is a perfectly legal marketplace but the problem is that the products may mislead you with outrageous income claims and false videos, that if you buy their product, you’ll discover an online goldmine!
There are even products and sites that promise you $10,000 a month from surveys! Everybody knows its a lie but people still waste their time and money on these, believing that if not 10k, they’ll at least make a few hundred dollars but that’s simply not true!
5. MLM Schemes and Ad Revenue Sharing Schemes, Pyramid Schemes or High Paying Cyclers/Matrix - These are all too good to be true and yet they offer logical explanations as to how you will be paid the money.
But they ALL have one thing in common- they ask you to invest money! Now whenever any website does that, you must cross-check its credentials a few hundred times! If its a scam, just google its name + ‘scam’ and google will tell you what you need to know.
There are a couple of good and trusted MLM (Multi-level-Marketing) sites out there but MLM only works if you are a good seller with good connections and are willing to work very hard in the beginning. Even then you must only join a site after researching well about the company that owns the site.

How to Earn Online In India
Now, that’s a tough nut to crack!
The first time, the earn-online bug bit me was when I was in school. I read an issue of the tech magazine ‘Digit’ which talked about, Google Adsense as a tool to make money from a blog. It got me thinking and that was how my first Blogger blog came up! (You can still view my cute little first blog at http://literaturebyankit.blogspot.com :) )
I eventually placed Adsense Ads on the blog, hoping to make some money. Honestly, I didn’t expect to make much from it. Finally, as history would have it, I still have an Adsense account with a 20-dollar-something, waiting to be withdrawn! I never made it to the $100 payout once, even in 6 years!
Once I was convinced that this wasn’t the way I’d get rich online, I began to research other ways to earn money online, hopefully without investment. I’ve read hundreds of thousands of blog posts and articles on the topic over the years. -Sounds pretty awesome right?
From selling dog food and photographs to business consulting, freelancing and forex trade, I’ve read about them all and tried a good number of them. I’ve succeeded at some and failed at many of them.
Through this blog, I aim to help you cut short your learning curve and get you started earning online without wasting time in trial and error (like I did)! I am only going to share the stuff that has worked for me in the past.
Today, I make a healthy sum of money every month through several of my online businesses. The majority of it comes from publishing ebooks on Amazon.com. If you wish to get into ebook publishing, you can read my blog about Kindle Publishing.
This is my first blog post here and I’d like to start by sharing the Top 5 ways to earn money online in India (Remember I’ll always share ONLY those methods that has made me money!) Here we go:
TOP 5 ways to earn online:
1. Blogging - Every single person who gets rich online has a blog. Haven’t you got one yet!? Yes, its that obvious. Blogging is one of the most risk-free and evergreen ways for online money making.
On this website itself I’m going to create a complete Blogging Tutorial. I’ll not only show you how to select a profitable topic for blogging but also how to start blogging at a low cost and get your blog in the search engine rankings and actually make money from it. Make sure you bookmark this blog, so that you can come back to check it out!
2. Kindle Publishing - By far, the best method to get started earning money online from India. Kindle is a platform created by Amazon.com for downloading and reading ebooks, both free and paid. They allow anyone to create and sell their ebook on Amazon.com for a desired price, provided you follow their terms and conditions strictly.
I’ve been writing for quite sometime now, and a majority of my online income flows in from Amazon.com. With a little hard work and creativity, you can get your first book published at no cost.
I write a blog at www.ankitneerav.com to help new writers get started with Kindle Publishing and also advanced tips and tricks for published authors. Make sure you check it out!
3. Freelancing - Do you know programming or web design? Maybe you can write great articles or click breath taking pictures? These days you can freelance on almost every job online. If you do something especially creative or useful, fiverr is a good place to start. Here you get paid 5 dollars for each gig you complete.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you choose a particular field such as content writing, then freelancing on websites specially dedicated to the field is always better for a constant stream of projects.
The trick for doing well on freelancing sites is to keep your prices really low in the beginning. Concentrate on getting projects and completing them really well. Then you can ask the clients to leave positive reviews for your work on your profile. This way you can slowly increase your price to match the market rates or even higher after you have a good set of positive recommendations.
4. Sell Photos Online - Yes, you can make money by selling photos online. Beware, you can’t just sell any photograph online. If you have considerably good quality of photographs that you’ve clicked, then you can upload them to Microstock websites such as istock.
You earn a percentage of the sale every time somebody buys one of your photographs. The trick here is to have a large collection of photographs and pick out categories or topics that sell well and photograph those stuff.
I’ve written a little bestselling ebook on it too! It has a really useful tips and advice for beginners. You can check it out here: Microstock Magic. Thanks in advance if you decide to buy it!
5. Crowd-sourcing Sites - These are sites that have a large number of people signed up as workers, who are willing to do little tasks such as liking or sharing a page or tweeting about it. Other common tasks include article writing, creating videos and audio transcription.
My favourite one is Amazon Mechanical Turk. Here you can not only use the money you earn to buy stuff on Amazon (I’ve bought lots of ebooks off this money
) but you can also withdraw it in Indian rupees! Moreover, it is owned by Amazon so I can trust them completely.
Hope I’ve added to what you already know about earning online. Have you used other methods to earn money online? Post them as comments here!
